KNITTING PATTERN INFORMATION

 

This lovely feather and fan 1950s Paloma Twin Set depicts a  style that never goes out of fashion. It was originally knitted in natural coloured 2 ply wool with blue, green, yellow and rose stripes.  The twin set can be knitted plain or striped. Instructions for a smart scarf are also included in this vintage  knitting pattern. 

 

KNITTING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS 


MEASUREMENTS:

Bust: to fit 34 to 36 inch bust

 

MATERIALS:

Original Yarn  suggestion and needle size info:   

8 oz Copleys Excelsior Super Fingering wool for the set

5 oz Copleys Excelsior Super Fingering wool for the striped set in natural

1 oz each in blue, green, yellow and rose

No 9 needles (3.75 mm)

No. 12 needles (2.75 mm)

Medium size crochet hook

5 Buttons

6 Press Studs

 

TENSION:

Knit at a tension of 7 1⁄2 stitches and 8 rows to 1 inch after pressing.

 

The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select the yarn type that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.

 

When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
