This 1940s Traditional Fair Isle Jumper was originally knitted in a natural shade, with the pattern knitted in Tartan Green, Brown, Gold, Emerald, Larkspur, Royal Blue and Scarlet. The pattern includes a chart for the Fair Isle pattern.
KNITTING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
MEASUREMENTS:Bust: to fit 32 to 34 inch bust
MATERIALS:Original Yarn suggestion and needle size info:
4 oz Super Shetland Wool in Natural
1 oz of each in Tartan Green, Brown, Gold, Emerald, Larkspur, Royal Blue and Scarlet
No. 9 Needles (3.75 mm)
No. 12 Needles (2.75 mm)
Stitch Holder
5 inch Zipp fastener
TENSION AND YARN:
8 stitches and 8 rows to one square inch over the Fair Isle pattern
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select yarn that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
