We love this 1940s Nairn Fair Isle Jumper. The pattern includes instructions to knit long or short sleeves and a Fair Isle Chart.
KNITTING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
MEASUREMENTS:Bust: to fit 34 to 36 inch bust
Length from lower edge to top of shoulder: 18 1⁄2 inches
Length of sleeve from underarm: short 6 inches, long 17 1⁄2 inches
MATERIALS:Original Yarn suggestion and needle size info:
5 oz 3 ply Wool in Ground Shade
5 oz 3 ply Wool in 4 Contrasting Shades
No. 9 Needles (3.75 mm)
No. 12 Needles (2.75 mm)
4 Small Buttons
TENSION AND YARN:
7 stitches and 8 rows to 1 inch on No. 9 needles
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select yarn that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
