Make these matching cardigans for the smart young mother and her small daughter. Any little girl would be as pleased as punch to have the adorable woolly, just like mummies in this 1940s Mother And Daughter Cardigan Set pattern.  The grown up cardigan features a long line which is accentuated by the cable stitching, ribbing at the waist, front, neck and cuffs. There's one pocket smartly positioned on the right hand side.  The Kiddie cardigan is a simple edition of the Mummie's, but without the waistline ribbing. It's designed to fit a 3 to 5 year old girl.

Bust: to fit 32 to 35 inch bust
Length:  22 inches

12 oz. Copley's 4 ply fingering
No. 12 (2.75 mm)knitting needles
No. 10 (3.25 mm) knitting needles
spare needle pointed at both ends for cabling
7 buttons
 
KIDDIE CARDIGAN
5 oz. Copley's 4 ply fingering
No. 10 (3.25 mm) knitting needles
spare needle pointed at both ends for cabling
6 buttons

TENSION:
Work at a tension of 10 rows to 1 inch.
 
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select the yarn type that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
 
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
