KNITTING PATTERN INFORMATION
This sweet 1940s Melrose Jumper ⁄ Sweater is worked with a pretty Fair Isle pattern of roses. The pattern is designed for economy and simplicity and the diagonal trellis lines are worked in V stitches after knitting is completed. MEASUREMENTSBust: width all around at underarm 35 inches
MATERIALS
Original yarn suggestion and needle size info:
5 oz Sirdar Super Shetland wool 3 ply in main colour, 1 oz green, 2 oz brown
No 9 knitting needles ( 3.75 mm)
No. 12 knitting needles (2.75 mm)
TENSION
Worked to a tension of 15 stitches to 2 inches and 9 rows to 1 inch over the stocking stitch.
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select the yarn type that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
