You'll feel beautiful when you step out in this 1940s Mayfair Lady's Dress by Sirdar.  This lovely day dress has  pretty lace pattern throughout the bodice, and a gored skirt design.  The original model was knitted in white but will look stunning knitted in a shade that reflects your vintage style.




Bust:  width all around at underarm 35 inches

Length:  from top of shoulder 46 inches



Original Yarn  suggestion and needle size info:   
24 oz Sirdar Crepe Wool

No. 9 Needles (3.75 mm)

No. 10 Needles (3.25 mm)

No. 11 Needles (3.00 mm)

1  Zipp Fastener, 10 inches

1 Zipp Fastener, 4 1⁄2 inches

24 inches Petersham, 1 inch in width

1 Crochet Hook



Worked at a tension of 7 1⁄2  stitches to 1 inch in width on No. 9 needles measured over the st. st.


The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select the yarn type that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.


When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
