This 1940s Isla Fair Isle Cardigan was originally knitted in shades of fawn, green, white, red, yellow, nut brown and blue.

MEASUREMENTS:Bust: to suit 36 to 38 inch bust
Length from lower edge to top of shoulder: 18 1⁄2 inches
Length of sleeve from underarm: 18 1⁄2 inches
MATERIALS:Original Yarn suggestion and needle size info:
5 oz. Sirdar Super Shetland Wool 3 ply in fawn1⁄2 oz. Sirdar Super Shetland Wool 3 ply of each in green, white, red
3⁄4 oz. Sirdar Super Shetland Wool 3 ply in yellow
1 1⁄4 oz. Sirdar Super Shetland Wool 3 ply in nut brown
2 1⁄2 oz. Sirdar Super Shetland Wool 3 ply in blue
No. 9 Needles (3.75 mm)
No. 10 Needles (3.25mm)
No. 12 Needles (2.75 mm)6 Buttons
TENSION AND YARN:
8 stitches to 1 inch and 25 rows to 3 inches on No. 9 needles
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select yarn that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
