KNITTING PATTERN INFORMATION

 

This 1940s Harebell Jumper ⁄ Sweater knitting pattern is such a lovely design. The jumper's yoke is knitted in an attractive harebell pattern and fancy rib.  It's the perfect vintage jumper to knit for spring and summer.

 

KNITTING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS 


MEASUREMENTS:

Not included in this pattern.

Based on the tension requirement and the largest number of stitches to work the front and back bodices, the width all around at underarm is about 35 inches.

 

MATERIALS:

Original Yarn  suggestion and needle size info:   
6 oz. Copley's Excelsior Wool 3 -ply
No. 9 needles (3.75 mm)
No. 10 needles (3.25 mm)

1 press-stud

 

TENSION:

Worked at a tension of one repeat of the lace pattern to one inch and a quarter (1 1⁄4") in width with No. 9 (3.75mm) knitting pins. 

 

The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern.  Select the yarn type that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.

 

When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
