This 1940s Fair Isle Jumper And Cap will keep you warm on cold days. A chart is included for the Fair Isle pattern. The original jumper and jelly bag cap were knitted in shades of fawn and green.

 

KNITTING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS 


MEASUREMENTS: 

Bust: to fit 33 to 35 inch bust
Length from shoulder:  19 inches

Length of sleeve seam:  18 1⁄2 inches


MATERIALS:

Original Yarn and needle size info: 

4 oz Fair Isle Fingering in Fawn

4 oz Fair Isle Fingering in Emerald Green

No. 10 Knitting Needles (3.25 mm)

No. 12 Knitting Needles (2.75 mm)

6 Small Buttons


TENSION:

7 1⁄2 stitches to 1 inch over the Fair Isle pattern unpressed

 

The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select yarn that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.

 

When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
