This 1940s Elsie Jumper ⁄ Sweater is perfect to wear with a skirt or trousers. The Fair Isle detailing, puffed sleeves and tailored waist form a smart pattern to knit. The knitting pattern includes instructions to knit a long or short sleeved jumper.
KNITTING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
MEASUREMENTS:Bust: to fit 36 inch bust
Instructions are given to fit 34 and 38 inch bust by replacing needle sizes
Length from lower edge to top of shoulder: 21 inches
Length of sleeve from underarm: short 6 inches, long 18 1⁄2 inches

TENSION AND YARN:
Using No. 9 needles, work to produce 8 stitches and 8 rows to one square inch in the colour knitting.
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select yarn that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
