Navy and Airforce blue were combined to knit the original 1940s Chevron Cardigan. The chevron stripes are knitted in the lighter shade to form an intriguing design.
KNITTING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
MEASUREMENTS:Bust: to fit 32 to 34 inch bust
MATERIALS:Original Yarn suggestion and needle size info:
9 oz 3 Ply Wool in Dark Shade
5 oz 3 Ply Wool in Light Shade
No. 8 Needles (4.00 mm)
No. 10 Needles (3.25 mm)
No. 12 Crochet Hook (2.50 mm)
TENSION AND YARN:
7 stitches to 1 inch measured over chevron pattern
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select yarn that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
