Knit this becoming 1940s Avis Jumper ⁄ Sweater with a straight neckline, lace panels and ribbing. Instructions for long sleeves are also given.

MEASUREMENTSBust: width all around at underarm 32 inches
Length from shoulder: 18 1⁄2 inches
Sleeve seam: 5 1⁄2 inches
MATERIALS
Original yarn suggestion and needle size info:
4 oz of Patons Fingering wool 2 ply for short sleeves, 6 oz for long sleeves
No. 9 knitting needles (3.75 mm)
No 10 knitting needles ( 3.25 mm)
No. 12 knitting needles (2.75 mm)
Crochet Hook No 13 (2.25 mm)
4 small buttons
Small quantity of cotton wool
TENSION
Worked at a tension of one repeat of the pattern to 1 3⁄4 inches in width.
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select the yarn type that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
