Knit this fabulous 1940s Ally Beret, Gloves And Socks set in three coloured knitting. The band of pattern on the beret is repeated on the gloves and socks.
KNITTING PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
MEASUREMENTS:BERET
To fit 21 inch head
GLOVES
To fit average sized hand
SOCKS
Length of foot 8 to 10 inches (this is adjustable in the knitting)
ORIGINAL YARN SUGGESTION:
1 oz 3 ply wool in light colour
1 oz 3 ply wool in medium colour
4 oz 3 ply wool n dark colour
No. 10 Needles (3.25 mm)
No. 11 Needles (3.00 mm)
No. 12 Needles (2.75 mm)
No. 13 Needles (2.25 mm)
TENSION AND YARN:
With No. 12 needles, 9 stitches to 1 inch.
The original yarn may not be available due to the age of the pattern. Select yarn that is closest to the weight of the original yarn.
When reworking the pattern it is best to knit a tension swatch with your chosen yarn. To get the correct measurements, your tension must be the same as stated in the pattern.
